Invitation
You are cordially invited to participate in the 2022 District 14 Series (“Series”) to be held from February through December 2022 and sponsored by the U.S. J/24 Class Association (USJCA) District 14 (“D14”), its local fleets and yacht clubs.
Eligibility
D14 Series is open to all J/24 boats as defined by the International J/24 Class. All helmspersons must have purchased a Full Membership to the J/24 Class J/24 National or International Class and meet requirements for boat and crew as specified by the competitive Rules. Registration, Entry, and Fees
Each helmsperson shall register for the D14 Series. Each entry will be placed into the North or South (Region) series for scoring depending upon the primary helmsperson’s location of residence. Measurement Certificate
For those events on the J/24 Texas Circuit all rules associated with the J/24 Texas Circuit apply as defined in Notice of Circuit. For those events that are not on the J/24 Texas Circuit, the measurement certificate requirement is waived. However, it is encouraged that the participant begins the process as soon as possible to prepare for future progression.
Inventory of Required and Optional Equipment
For those events on the J/24 Texas Circuit all rules associated with the J/24 Texas Circuit apply as defined in Notice of Circuit. For those events that are not on the J/24 Texas Circuit, the Inventory of Required and Optional requirement is waived. However, it is required for all required safety and compliance requirements be fulfilled to meet Regatta requirements. Crew and Co-Helmsman
For those events on the J/24 Texas Circuit all rules associated with the J/24 Texas Circuit apply as defined in Notice of Circuit. For those events that are not on the J/24 Texas Circuit, crew and co-helmsman rules are not in effect.
Rules
For those events on the J/24 Texas Circuit all rules associated with the J/24 Texas Circuit apply as defined in Notice of Circuit. For those events that are not on the J/24 Texas Circuit, all other rules as established by the Organizing Authority for each Regatta apply.
Regatta Qualification
The minimum requirement for a regatta to qualify as a J/24 D14 Series Regatta is that the regatta organizers register a one-design class for the J/24 and successfully score multiple participating boats for at least one race in the one-design class.

(1) Regattas may be added/removed as the required to support Circuit and Series objectives. (2) This date is pending agreement by the Organizer.
Prizes
Awards will be presented to the final overall top three (3) Series helmspersons based for each Region (North and South). Additional awards will be awarded to qualifying participants as part of the overall District 14 awards. Top five winners of the J/24 Texas Circuit and the D14 Super Series are not eligible for D14 Series prizes under this Notice of Series.
2023 J/24 World Championship Qualification
The D14 Series offers no qualification / berth for the 2023 World Championship.
Series Scoring
RRS Appendix A, as modified below, will apply to each Regional Series scoring.
Twenty-one (21) Regattas are planned. Four (4) Regattas are required to constitute the Series for each region.
The Low Point Scoring system is to be used.
Each registered helmsman’s best 4 regatta scores will be used to define the scores.
Rule A8 regarding Series Ties applies.
