The J/24 Texas Circuit represents our traditional flagship 7-Regatta, District 14 Championship Circuit which continues to thrive and we expect to continue to increase its participation and popularity year over year.
Invitation
You are cordially invited to participate in the 2022 J/24 Texas Circuit (the “Circuit”) to be held from March
through November 2022 and sponsored by the U.S. J/24 Class Association (USJCA) District 14, its local fleets and yacht clubs. The Circuit is administered by the J24 Texas Circuit Representatives (“Circuit Reps”) and USJCA District 14 Governor (“Governor”).
Eligibility
The Circuit is open to all J/24 boats as defined by the International J/24 Class. All Circuit helmspersons must have purchased a Full Membership to the J/24 Class J/24 National or International Class and meet requirements for boat and crew as specified by associated Rules.

Rules
The Circuit Regattas are governed by the rules as defined in the 2021-2024 edition of The Racing Rules of Sailing (“RRS”), the 2021 International J/24 Class Rules (“Class Rules”), this NOC, the NOC appendix, and the respective Notices of Race and Sailing Instructions for each Circuit Regatta.
Measurement Certificate
In accordance with Class Rule A.11.1, all boats must have a current, valid Measurement Certificate issued by the J/24 Class and a current Inventory of Required and Optional Equipment in accordance with Class Rule B.3.2. See appendix for additional details.
Registration, Entry, and Fees
Each helmsperson shall register for the J/24 Texas Circuit per the Notice of District 14 Racing.
Racing
Up to six (6) races will be scheduled at each Circuit Regatta. Racing will be windward/leeward courses or variations thereof. Offset weather marks and leeward gates may be used.
Circuit Scoring
RRS Appendix A, as modified below, will apply to the overall Circuit scoring.
Five (5) Circuit Regattas are required to constitute the Circuit. Only those Circuit Regattas for which at least three (3) races are completed will be scored in the overall Circuit scoring.
When five (5) Circuit Regattas are scored, a boat’s overall score will be the total of her Circuit Regatta scores.
When six (6) Circuit Regattas are scored, a boat’s overall score will be the total of her Circuit Regatta scores, excluding her worst Regatta score.
When seven (7) Circuit Regattas are scored, a boat’s overall score will be the total of her Circuit Regatta scores, excluding her two (2) worst Regatta scores.
Exceptional scoring cases may be found in the Notice of Circuit Appendix.
Prizes
Awards for the Circuit will be presented to the final overall top five (5) Circuit helmspersons. Additional awards will be awarded to qualifying participants as part of the overall District 14 awards.
2023 J/24 Worlds Qualification
The top finisher of the 2022 J/24 Texas Circuit will qualify for a berth in the 2023 J/24 World Championship planned for Thessaloniki Greece.
